Job Summary

We are seeking a Development Chemist to join our Special Hazards/Agents New Product Introduction Team. As a Development Chemist, you will work on developing and testing next-generation fire suppression agents. Your responsibilities will include research into new technologies, development of new technologies into commercial products, interfacing with 3rd party approval agencies, and assisting with new product commercialization and production scale-up via a stage-gate new product development process.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and test new fire suppression agents
  • Research new technologies and develop new technologies into commercial products
  • Interface with 3rd party approval agencies
  • Assist with new product commercialization and production scale-up
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Chemistry
  • 6+ years' experience in a formulation lab environment
  • Strong laboratory fundamentals including documentation and chemical hygiene/safety
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound understanding of statistical methods including Design of Experiments (DoE)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masters degree
  • Experience with surfactant and/or polymer chemistry
  • Knowledge of firefighting foam test standards
