Position Overview: The Manager In Training (MIT) program is meticulously crafted to equip participants for future leadership roles within our home building operations, tailored to their interests, skills, and the requirements of our construction division. This program is an excellent opportunity for early-career professionals to develop and enhance their leadership capabilities within our organization. Upon successful completion, participants will be well-prepared to assume management positions such as Assistant Production Manager, Assistant Materials Manager, Customer Success Manager, or Cost Analyst.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gain insights from seasoned team members across various training areas while acquiring knowledge about operational processes, protocols, and standards, and engage in specific tasks alongside team members.
- Complete each segment of the structured training program while rotating through assignments linked to the manufacturing process.
- Participate actively in MIT meetings to refine and enhance the training curriculum.
- Engage in facility projects to deepen understanding of the business.
- Contribute to Sponsor-led initiatives to broaden knowledge.
- Integrate into the company culture and foster relationships with colleagues and management.
- Deliver presentations to executive leaders at the conclusion of each training phase.
- Report learning outcomes to facility leadership.
- Compile weekly summary reports.
- Undertake additional projects and tasks as assigned.
- A Bachelor's degree is required; prior experience in construction is preferred.
- Willingness to relocate is essential.
- Highly organized with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent planning and follow-up abilities.
- Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Essential multitasking skills.
- Willingness and ability to absorb substantial information.
- Project management experience is advantageous.
- Consistent operation of a computer and other office productivity equipment such as telephones, calculators, copiers, and printers.
- Effective communication with others via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Ability to stand, sit, stoop, and crawl for extended periods regularly.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
- Work primarily in a temperature-controlled office environment, with exposure to manufacturing conditions.
- Predominantly involves sitting and standing tasks.
- Travel requirements of 25% or more, depending on learning opportunities within the program.
