Position Overview:
RSUI Group, Inc. is actively seeking a skilled Underwriter to join our Atlanta Property department. The ideal candidate will possess over 4 years of experience in commercial property underwriting.
Role Responsibilities:
As an Underwriter in our Property department, you will:
- Develop and sustain a profitable portfolio of accounts, exercising independence and creativity.
- Maintain high levels of expertise regarding job functions and market dynamics, advising management on their implications for our offerings and operations.
- Handle intricate property and inland marine risks with diligence.
- Evaluate and scrutinize submissions for acceptability and completeness, obtaining additional information as necessary.
- Recommend acceptable terms within your underwriting authority.
- Bind coverage and ensure the prompt issuance of policies.
- Provide service to existing accounts and monitor claims and loss experience, suggesting adjustments to uphold profitability.
- Collaborate with various departments on specialized issues.
- Review policy language and propose necessary amendments.
- Foster relationships with current producers and cultivate new connections.
- Engage in broker negotiations and presentations during marketing discussions.
- Participate in business-related activities, including team meetings and marketing events.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Candidate Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in commercial property underwriting.
- A college degree or equivalent business experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Property Coverages.
- Prior experience in underwriting or brokerage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
