Position Summary:
BHSI is currently seeking a knowledgeable Property Underwriter based in Atlanta, GA. We are looking for a dedicated, intelligent, and passionate individual who consistently strives for excellence. Key responsibilities encompass developing business within distribution channels, prequalifying accounts, and applying underwriting expertise to assess property risks aligned with the company's risk appetite. The role also involves expanding and nurturing new business opportunities through proactive engagement with brokers and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance the property insurance portfolio, including primary and excess layers.
  • Establish, nurture, and expand relationships with brokers and clients.
  • Identify and prequalify new business opportunities.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic environment, managing multiple tasks and making prompt decisions while upholding underwriting standards.
  • Underwrite Fire and CAT exposures.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in property insurance.
  • Strong existing relationships within the retail brokerage community.
  • Demonstrated underwriting expertise.
  • Familiarity with policy forms, including broker manuscripts.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management.
  • Solid understanding of CAT peril modeling and pricing.
  • Excellent collaboration and team-building abilities.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong communication skills, including negotiation and presentation capabilities.
