Senior Technical Designer

Li & Fung Limited is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to lead our apparel development process. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for ensuring the fit, quality, and technical accuracy of our products.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide comprehensive technical support to overseas key members, ensuring the improvement of fit and delivery of clear, concise comments within Excel and PLM Software.
- Develop and create detailed, accurate technical packages and graded specs, ensuring all specifications are documented.
- Apply advanced knowledge in pattern making, fitting, and writing comments to develop and refine apparel designs.
- Review, measure, and evaluate fit samples from proto stage to production TOPs, providing detailed feedback and ensuring the highest quality standards.
- Set up and conduct fittings independently, providing guidance and making necessary adjustments to achieve the desired fit.
- Communicate effectively with production, design teams, factories, and overseas team members on all technical issues, offering solutions and ensuring correlation between corrections and updated specs.
- Help track samples received and approvals, adhering to the corporate calendar and ensuring timely progress through all stages of development.
- Establish and maintain fit standards within the brand and various categories, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Collaborate with the design team to follow design direction and maintain the desired aesthetic.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional partners, including design, overseas technical design, and merchandising.
- Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept to delivery, ensuring all technical aspects meet the highest standards.
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills, setting and reviewing priorities to meet multiple deadlines effectively.
- Understand and apply basic and advanced pattern principles, making corrections as needed to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of all technical processes and specifications, ensuring clarity and accessibility for all team members.
- Bachelor's degree in Apparel/Technical Design, Textile Sciences, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in technical design, primarily in womenswear and outerwear, with a proven track record of taking ownership of the technical design process.
- Knowledge of the apparel development process from inception through production, including pattern making, grading, construction manufacturing, embroidery, materials, and machinery used in apparel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, confident and engaging in interactions with production, design teams, and factories.
- Proven expertise in apparel fitting, spec/block creation, and pattern correction/manipulation. Ability to independently set up fittings, conduct fittings, and send out fit comments.
- Capable of working independently to meet multiple deadlines and manage time effectively.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal cross-functional team members, account partners, and overseas affiliates.
- Knowledge of Excel, Illustrator, and Photoshop programs. Experience with PLM systems, and Adobe
The approximate annual base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $110,000.00. The offered salary or salary range for this position will vary based on role requirements, skill set, and years of experience. Our Company offers a comprehensive benefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, company holidays.
