About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Designer to join our team at BCI Brands. As a Senior Technical Designer, you will be responsible for preparing for fittings, measuring samples, and ensuring that previous comments have been corrected. You will also attend and lead fit sessions on live models or mannequins, check construction and quality of products, and identify potential issues.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for fittings by measuring samples and cross-examining them against style Tech Packs and previous fit samples.
  • Attend and lead fit sessions on live models or mannequins, taking initiative in assigned product categories.
  • Check construction and quality of products to ensure proper construction for garment category and fabrication.
  • Identify potential issues and make recommendations.
  • Anticipate and resolve pre-production and production problems while partnering with vendors.
  • Execute fit comments in a timely manner to ensure the fit process stays in line with production and action timelines.
  • Partner with the Product Development team on lead time priorities.
  • Review pre-production samples (PP's) for adherence to approved fit and construction standards.
  • Execute comments as needed to complete the PP approval process and move the process forward to production.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or Certification in Apparel Manufacturing, Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent.
  • 10+ years experience in the apparel industry, including patternmaking and construction experience with full knowledge of production process and timelines for Woven's + Cut and Sew Knits product categories.
  • Strong understanding of Technical Design, including construction, fit, pattern making, fabric relation to design intent, and overall improving quality of a garment.
  • Proficient with knowledge and skill in commercial fit and pattern standards, corrections, grading, construction manufacturing methods, sewing, and technical drawing.
  • Keen awareness and knowledge of development and production calendar, process, and timelines.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to drive collaboration and excel in a team-based structure.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word).
