Job Title: Technical Design Associate

At Alice and Olivia, we are seeking a highly skilled Technical Design Associate to join our team. This role will be responsible for partnering with our Senior Technical Designer, Soft Wovens Design team, and patternmakers to translate design's vision into a finished product.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and prioritize daily workload of assigned product to maintain development calendar
  • Develop and create SRS tech packs to communicate design intent, fit, and construction with the support of the Sr. Soft Wovens Designers and Sr. Technical Designer
  • Monitor and maintain fit, construction, and workmanship standards for your product category and ensure consistency across all factories
Fitting Preparation:
  • Measure, evaluate fit sample submit (construction, execution). This will also include having the complete style history to be presented in the fitting
  • Conduct product category fitting with the support of the Sr. Technical Designer and take appropriate notes as needed
  • Analyze and communicate the outcome of fitting with internal cross-functions as well as the factory
  • Communicate with vendors regarding fit, specs, grading issues, and construction via fit comments
Qualifications:
  • 4-Year College Degree: Preferred with training in Technical Design
  • 1-2 years in the apparel industry in technical design and/or pattern making
  • Product focus should be a balance of cut and sew and woven; exposure should consist of but not be limited to Tops - Blouses - Dresses - Skirts - Gowns
  • Strong basic understanding of fit, balance, and garment construction, and fabric reaction
  • Able to work with quarter scale and/or full scale patterns communicating fit corrections
Computer Skills:
  • Proficiency in MS office (Excel/Word/Outlook)
  • Adobe Design Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop)
