Job Summary:
This Swim Instructor (In Training) role is an exciting opportunity to join the YMCA of the North team and contribute to the success of our aquatics program. As a Swim Instructor (In Training), you will work closely with certified swim instructors to learn the skills and techniques necessary to provide safe and enjoyable swimming lessons to our members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Shadow and assist certified swim instructors to learn programming and emergency procedures.
- Provide excellent customer service in a safe, enjoyable, and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and satisfaction.
- Communicate policies and procedures for the pool, body of water, and whirlpool to members and staff.
Requirements:
- Minimum age of 16.
- Ability to swim in shallow and deep water, and tread water (Stage 4 level swimming skill).
- Dedicated to member safety and the mission and philosophy of the YMCA.
Work Environment:
This role requires working in a pool environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels. You must be able to remain alert and focused in a warm environment with air temperatures of 80 degrees or higher.
