Gymnastics Instructor

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Gymnastics Instructor to join our team at the Young Men's Christian Association of Wichita Kansas. As a Gymnastics Instructor, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of lesson plans, instructing and evaluating class participants, and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment for developing progressive gymnastics skills.

• Assist in the preparation of lesson plans and instruct class participants in accordance with YMCA guidelines.
• Ensure a safe and positive learning environment for participants.
• Convey information on gymnastics programs and schedules to participants and parents.
• Build effective relationships with participants, parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Collect feedback from participants and share with supervisor to improve service.
• Organize and maintain class equipment, and report any facility or equipment irregularities to supervisor.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of participants, and follow all YMCA policies, rules, regulations, and procedures.
• Attend all required training sessions and scheduled meetings.
• Support Annual Campaign fundraising efforts.

• Minimum age of 16.
• Relevant experience competing or coaching sport.

• Must be able to perform physical activities such as running, climbing stairs, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, and performing moderate physical activity for extended periods.
• Must be able to lead and coach teams and individuals, and have the ability to communicate effectively.
• Must possess mental alertness, problem-solving, and task management skills, and be able to make independent and sound decisions.
• Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, and the desire to work with all ages.

• Commitment to the YMCA mission, vision, and values.
• Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• Complete First Aid training in accordance with Conditions of Employment.
• Learn and demonstrate all applicable emergency procedures and action plans for the branch and/or program.
• Understand and abide by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association.
