Job Overview

Position Summary

The Culinary Preparation Specialist is responsible for maintaining the quality, consistency, and preparation of all menu items. This role involves preparing ingredients that enable the line cooks to deliver an exceptional dining experience to our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepares all food items by washing, chopping, and cutting according to recipe guidelines.
  • Ensures cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned workstation as well as the entire kitchen area.
  • Adheres to production lists while completing tasks.
  • Possesses comprehensive knowledge of assigned recipes and actively shares culinary insights with the team.
  • Ensures all stored products are labeled and organized according to FIFO and company protocols.
  • Communicates ingredient needs to chefs and support staff effectively.
  • Sets up the prep station properly and executes other opening/closing tasks as directed by management.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Culinary Preparation Specialist in a medium to high-volume restaurant.
  • Conversational fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • Exhibits strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management abilities.
  • Actively participates as a team player by supporting colleagues throughout the workday.

Required Certifications

  • Food Handling Safety certification is mandatory.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Must be capable of standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and bend to handle weights up to 50 lbs.
  • Role may involve tasks requiring repetitive motions.
  • Exposure to hot kitchen elements and cleaning agents is expected.
  • Must maintain focus and efficiency in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including varying shifts on days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
