AHC Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced College & Career Readiness Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Resident Services department, you will play a critical role in facilitating the implementation of our college and career access programs for fifth through twelfth grade students.
Job Summary:The College & Career Readiness Coordinator will be responsible for providing guidance and support to low-income and/or first-generation college youth on academic achievement, skill development, and career planning. This includes executing programming to enhance college and career readiness among our students, providing hands-on support, guidance, and expertise to ensure the success of these programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Facilitate a college and career access program for youth, providing resources and tools to increase equity and access, and help students successfully transition to college and/or careers after high school.
- Provide tailored case management to high school juniors and seniors from low-income households, assisting in the process of applying for and/or selecting post-secondary options.
- Schedule and facilitate workshops, training, college tours, and field trips to support student learning and career development.
- Partner with managers from other program areas to integrate College & Career Readiness components into the after-school and teen-tutoring programs to foster academic and social and emotional success.
- Communicate with program participants, parents, partners, and community stakeholders through monthly calendars, newsletters, fliers, announcements, and articles in English and relevant languages to meet the linguistic needs of recipients.
- Bachelor's degree in education; Master's preferred.
- Three years of work experience in an educational setting.
- One year of college and career readiness case management experience.
- Experience supporting and motivating first-generation youth and students who are underrepresented in higher education.
- Cross-cultural competency and commitment to racial justice a must.
