Key Responsibilities:

  • Sell investment management, advisory, and asset servicing services to institutional clients, focusing on foundations, endowments, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Utilize business networks and internal contacts to identify prospective clients and opportunities.
  • Actively engage with clients to raise brand awareness, obtain leads, and qualify prospects.
  • Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs) using Central Sales Support and maintain responsibility for completion and delivery to prospects.
  • Coordinate and conduct sales presentations with participation by internal professionals.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of the issues affecting the target market to successfully position oneself as a technical expert and resource.
  • Participate in industry-related conferences and programs, including speaking engagements.
  • Identify opportunities to cross-sell other services and products to the target market.
  • Work closely with local management to leverage the network and ensure client retention.
  • Assume responsibility for complex and sensitive client and account activities as assigned by manager.
  • Research prospects' financial objectives and needs to offer appropriate solutions and services.
  • Develop rapport with prospects and arrange meetings to continue the sales process.

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of experience in a nonprofit/institutional investment sales or related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the target market and assigned territory.
  • Series 7 and 63 licenses.

Compensation:

Base salary $175,000-$185,000. Northern Trust offers a comprehensive benefits package, including retirement and pension plan contributions, health and welfare benefits, paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life insurance, and other wellbeing benefits.
