Position Overview:
As a Financial Services Consultant, you will serve as a reliable financial ally, guiding members in developing effective financial strategies and establishing savings objectives to enhance their daily banking experiences and promote financial wellness. By championing the success of our cooperative, you will contribute to our mission of ensuring that profits are reinvested into our community and membership.
Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:
It is essential to uphold all legal, regulatory, and compliance standards pertinent to this role, including adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering regulations, OFAC guidelines, and Information Security protocols. You will be required to complete annual compliance and security training as mandated by Harborstone Credit Union.

Compensation:
Minimum: $24.27
Maximum: $34.67
Anticipated Compensation: $27.74 (based on skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and nurture relationships with local community organizations and influencers.
- Proactively manage member relationships through continuous outreach and effective use of our CRM system.
- Engage in leadership and facilitation of team meetings and training sessions.
- Act as a knowledgeable peer-coach to assist in the development of tellers and member service representatives.
- Make informed recommendations regarding lending, deposits, and service charges that align with both member and cooperative needs.
- Communicate effectively through various channels, including in-person, phone, and email.
- Follow up with potential members and encourage their engagement.
- Participate in assigned branch promotional activities.
- Lead operational tasks within the branch.
- Support the training initiatives for member service representatives and tellers.
- Conduct general account maintenance to ensure accurate member information.
- Address basic transactional needs to support membership.
- Manage member concerns and navigate the escalation process as necessary.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all consumer and business-related products and services to effectively refer members.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, utilizing resources effectively to meet member needs.
- Ability to anticipate member needs and guide them through significant financial journeys.
- Thorough knowledge of Branch Playbook Strategies and commitment to supporting team growth.
- Expertise in credit cards and the ability to identify needs and process applications.
- In-depth knowledge of consumer loans and preapproval offers, with proficiency in application processes.
- Strong understanding of consumer and business products and services, along with proficiency in account opening procedures.
- Exemplary behavior and efficient use of retail tools to foster long-term relationships.
- Utilization of external financial educational resources.
- Familiarity with Harborstone and its partnerships with Business Partners/Vendors/CUSOs.
- Understanding of Harborstone's strategic plans and the strategies necessary for cooperative success.
- Commitment to personal and professional growth through a growth mindset.
- Ability to leverage key strengths for the cooperative's overall success.
Experience and Education:
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Possession of a Notary license and understanding of notary processes.
- Completion of NMLS training and ongoing knowledge of mortgage processes and products.
- Achievement of CUNA's Financial Counseling certification (FiCEP) to assist members in achieving their financial goals.
- Comprehensive understanding of branch performance through report analysis.
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in various formats with employees, members, and the public.
- Capability to handle and move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching as needed.
- Willingness to sit and stand for extended periods.
