Job Summary

The Intersect Group is seeking an experienced Server Engineer to secure, monitor, and maintain a primarily Microsoft client/server environment. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for recommending new hardware, tools, applications, and processes to enhance the current structure and accommodate for growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Server Administration: Install, configure, and upgrade Windows Server software and corresponding applications.
  • Backup and Recovery: Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop and implement administration policies and procedures, including subsystem security guidelines.
  • Database Security: Implement and maintain database security, including creating and maintaining users and roles, assigning privileges.
  • Performance Monitoring: Tune and monitor business applications for optimal performance.
  • Automation and Scripting: Develop automation of processes using scripting tools, such as PowerShell.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Author standard distributable reports and documentation to describe installation and operating procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: Associates Degree in Computer Science or related field (5 years' experience in lieu of degree acceptable).
  • Certifications: MCSE, MCITP, MCSA (certification is a plus).
  • Skills: Expertise in administration of Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and SQL Server. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex problems, performance tuning, and optimization.
  • Soft Skills: Good communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work after-hours, and strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
