Position Overview: The Infrastructure Systems Engineer is tasked with evaluating, deploying, maintaining, and supporting moderately intricate elements of the systems architecture and related tools. This role involves providing solutions for moderately complex challenges and conducting disaster recovery simulations associated with Infrastructure Tools. Collaboration with clients, business associates, and engineering teams is essential to develop, implement, and support suitable IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee multiple ticket and change management queues
• Engage in small to large, moderately complex projects
• Collaborate with a team of system engineers to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives
• Monitor system events and initiate service remediation efforts for events generated across multi-platform applications
• Diagnose hardware and software issues by executing diagnostics, documenting problems and solutions, and evaluating the impact of issues
• Execute change management tasks, including patch installations, software updates, and application upgrades
• Conduct standard request fulfillment activities, such as server configurations, system modifications, and decommissioning tasks
• Act as an internal escalation point within operations
• Analyze and transition tasks between teams within Platform Services
• Utilize an interactive job submission application tool
• Adhere to operational best practices and standard operating procedures for deployment, support, troubleshooting, and systems management
• Create and maintain documentation related to transitioned tasks
• Develop, document, and sustain global processes pertinent to Platform Services
• Propose and implement enhancements for the Platform Services department
• Recommend new procedures and processes for departmental efficiency
• Generally operate with minimal guidance on daily tasks and receive general instructions for new assignments
Required Qualifications:
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring work authorization sponsorship
• Commitment to integrating security into all decisions and daily responsibilities
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in system administration with Windows Server 2012 – 2019
• Proficient in Windows server technologies, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP
• Strong analytical and root cause analysis skills
• Understanding of operating system theory, core infrastructure, third-party software products, and client/server hardware components
• Experience in installing system patches
Preferred Qualifications:
• Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Management Information Systems, along with two or more years of relevant work experience
• At least 6 months of experience in system administration with UNIX and Linux server technologies
• Familiarity with system management tools such as WSUS, SCCM, SCOM, and SCORCH
• Experience in packaging Windows applications using SCCM
• Certifications or experience with virtual infrastructures like VMware
• Certifications or experience in cloud infrastructures such as Azure and AWS
• Basic experience with middleware software such as Weblogic and Tomcat
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools like Jira and Confluence
• Experience with Office 365
