Job Title: System Administrator

Optomi, in partnership with our manufacturing client, is seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to oversee and maintain the IT infrastructure. This role requires a strong background in IT systems management, with a focus on ensuring optimal performance and security for over 1,000 users.

Key Responsibilities:
  • AV Bitdefender Management: Create and maintain the setup for AV Bitdefender, including policy enforcement and patch management for third-party applications.
  • Virtual Server Management: Design and maintain virtual servers within a Hyper-V environment, supporting over 250 servers.
  • Backup Operations: Configure and perform regular backup operations utilizing Storage Craft and Cohesity.
  • Active Directory and Exchange Management: Manage Active Directory and Exchange user administration in Azure and O365.
  • Software and Hardware Management: Install and patch software on desktops and servers as requested, using WSUS and Bitdefender for updates.
  • Help Desk Support: Provide level 2 and 3 desktop and help desk support through help desk tickets, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Work closely with the help desk and other teams to troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and deliver technical support.
  • Server Administration: Perform server administration tasks, including user/group management, security permissions, group policies, print services, event log research, and resource monitoring to ensure seamless system architecture.
  • Equipment Procurement: Assist in purchasing IT equipment with the approval of the Project Manager.
  • Software and Hardware Upgrades: Evaluate, test, and deploy software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure.
  • Network and Storage Monitoring: Proactively monitor all network and storage devices, services, and servers to ensure uptime and performance.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Systems Administrator, with a minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of Hyper-V, Active Directory, Exchange, Azure, and O365.
  • Backup and AV Solutions: Familiarity with backup solutions such as Storage Craft and Cohesity, and experience with AV solutions and patch management systems (e.g., WSUS, Bitdefender).
  • Soft Skills: Excellent troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
