Responsibilities:
  • Provide friendly and professional interaction to both guests and staff.
  • Offer helpful and knowledgeable information about Discovery Cube and its available offerings.
  • Proactively engage guests while on the floor and interacting with exhibits.
  • Ensure all guests are having a fun and safe experience.
  • Understand and use the Galaxy program as needed.
  • Operate and use equipment as outlined in the Interactor Manual.
  • Lead science-based demonstrations for multiple age levels.
  • Assist with stage shows, field trips, birthday parties, and other programs as needed.
  • Assist with cashiering as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma required; College degree preferred, with a focus on Science or Education.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a fast-paced Customer Service environment preferred.
  • Public speaking or performance experience.
  • Prior experience working with children.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills required.
  • Must have a basic understanding of scientific concepts and must be willing to learn and teach scientific concepts.
  • Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time without reasonable accommodation.
  • Friendly demeanor and ability to interact with adults and children of all ages.
  • Must be a proactive, self-starter and require little supervision.
  • Basic computer knowledge required (email, internet browsing).
  • Demonstrated ability to use all Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs. for short periods of time.
  • Must be able to safely bend to turn exhibits on or off.
  • Prior cash handling experience.
  • Knowledge of a second language a plus but not required.
  • Weekend availability required.
