Position Summary

We are in search of a Lead Financial Strategist to enhance our finance department at Friedman Vartolo. This pivotal position will play a key role in managing financial operations, delivering strategic insights through comprehensive data analysis, and ensuring robust financial governance to align with the firm's goals. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a dynamic legal setting.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate periodic financial statements, including profit and loss reports, balance sheets, cash flow analyses, and essential performance metrics. Communicate findings to upper management to support informed decision-making.
  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and unbilled hours. Evaluate inventory patterns and propose modifications to enhance cash flow and mitigate financial exposure.
  • Perform thorough financial assessments to back strategic projects and operational enhancements. Discover avenues for cost savings, revenue growth, and efficiency improvements.
  • Create and uphold detailed budgets and forecasts that align with the firm's strategic objectives. Track discrepancies and provide insightful recommendations for management.
  • Employ financial modeling and scenario analysis to elucidate potential outcomes and risks. Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to foster data-driven decision-making.
  • Act as the main liaison with external auditors and internal compliance teams for audits, tax preparation, and adherence to regulations. Ensure the timely and precise submission of financial documentation.
  • Enhance and maintain financial systems and tools to optimize processes and improve accuracy. Implement best practices for data integrity and security.
  • Work alongside the finance team and other departments to refine financial processes and boost efficiency.
  • Stay updated on industry developments, best practices, and regulatory shifts related to financial management and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Financial Analyst or in a comparable role, ideally within a law firm or professional services context.
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting methodologies.
  • Advanced understanding of accounting principles and regulations (GAAP).
  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for translating complex data into actionable insights.
  • High proficiency in financial software and accounting systems; familiarity with Excel, Quickbooks, and SQL is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy and timely completion of tasks.
