Overview:

The Recreation Program Coordinator plays a crucial role in executing various activities designed to enhance the well-being of residents, ensuring that each program is both enjoyable and beneficial.

Maplewood Mill Pond LLC provides a comprehensive array of social, physical, cognitive, emotional, spiritual, and purposeful activities aimed at enriching the lives of our residents.


Key Responsibilities:
Deliver exceptional service to all residents, family members, and visitors within the community.
Exhibit the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities pertinent to the responsibilities of this role.
Be personable, dependable, and an effective communicator and collaborator.
Engage positively and professionally with residents, visitors, and colleagues at all levels.
Maintain ongoing communication with the Lifestyle Director regarding staffing matters or concerns.
Attend monthly all-associate meetings.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Recreational Programming:
Select, schedule, and facilitate activities suitable for various skill levels and abilities.
Assist in organizing special events for the community, ensuring at least one family event is held each quarter.
Support the completion of personal history forms for all residents.
Coordinate activities in conjunction with the Resident Service Care team.
Assist the Lifestyle Program Director and Coordinator in managing supplies for recreational activities.
Post the current monthly, weekly, and daily activity schedules in designated public areas.
Provide a daily afternoon social or happy hour.

Collaborate with the Lifestyle Director to conduct a monthly Activity Committee Meeting, allowing residents to contribute to the monthly events calendar.

Support the execution of the Annual Maplewood theme.

Adhere to all emergency protocols.
Understand and implement all safety procedures and practices.

Communication Skills:
Demonstrate a genuine passion for working with the senior community.
Be creative, energetic, enthusiastic, patient, flexible, and team-oriented.
Exhibit patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor.
Create an inviting atmosphere with a diverse range of activities.
Promote Maplewood positively and effectively communicate the organization's values to residents, visitors, coworkers, and the broader community.

Qualifications:
An associate degree from an accredited institution or completion of two years of college with a focus on recreation, occupational therapy, gerontology, or a related field, or two years of full-time experience in recreation with an adult demographic.
A strong passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Basic typing abilities and computer proficiency, including familiarity with MS Word, Excel, Publisher, and creative software.

Driver Requirements:
Possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record. A driving test may be required.
