Position Overview: The Civil Estimator/Project Manager plays a crucial role in assessing project specifications, conducting site evaluations, and preparing detailed project estimates using advanced estimating software tailored for both public and private sector projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and estimate multiple projects while adhering to set bid timelines.
  • Perform comprehensive 2D and 3D project take-offs utilizing appropriate take-off software.
  • Oversee various projects to ensure compliance with contractual deadlines.
  • Act as the company representative on-site during construction phases, addressing any issues or challenges that may arise.
  • Manage monthly invoicing processes.
  • Track costs effectively by comparing actual expenses to initial estimates and making necessary adjustments.
  • Conduct buyouts and issue purchase orders or subcontracts as required.
  • Prepare and submit project documentation.
  • Plan all construction operations and schedules in collaboration with the General Superintendent, Project Coordinator, and Project Manager's Assistant to meet deadlines.
  • Identify safety concerns and ensure adherence to the company's safety protocols.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients to foster strong relationships.
  • Uphold the highest standards of personal ethics in all interactions.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to represent the company professionally.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management capabilities.
  • Knowledge and experience in Paving, Concrete, Utilities, and/or Civil Sitework.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating civil projects for both public and private sectors.
  • Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with estimating software such as Bid 2 Win (B2W).

Physical Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet project demands.
  • Ability to work in an office setting.
  • Capability to conduct site visits, which may involve traversing uneven terrain.
