Job Summary

We are seeking a Patient Services Representative to join our Float Pool team at Corewell Health. As a Patient Services Representative, you will play a vital role in delivering top-notch healthcare service to our patients. You will work as part of a team to provide registration, concierge, and clerical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a concierge, greeting and communicating with patients or visitors.
  • Perform clerical functions, including answering practice phone calls, scheduling patient appointments, ordering supplies, generating patient letters, processing/sorting mail and supply deliveries, and processing registration reports.
  • Perform patient registration and check-in, confirming patient demographic and insurance information, and assisting patients with self-registration and arrival.
  • Maintain patient medical records according to standards, uploading Right Fax documents into EPIC, and responsible for basic EMR/EHR scanning.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures, completing all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Preferred: Vocational/Technical One year certificate from college or technical school (based on Corewell Health entity and department).
  • 1 year of relevant experience in insurance billing, access management, patient financial services, electronic health records, lab service support, or other related experience.

Work Environment

This is a part-time position with variable hours, working Monday to Friday. The primary location is Watervliet Hospital, 400 Medical Park Dr, Watervliet.
