About the Role

As a Med-Surg Float Pool Registered Nurse at St. David's North Austin Medical Center, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to our patients, and we are seeking a skilled and compassionate nurse to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient assessments, develop care plans, and implement and evaluate care
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop, evaluate, and revise the plan of care
  • Administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy
  • Delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice
  • Provide pre- and post-operative patient care
  • Provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments
  • Facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team

Requirements

  • 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Associate's degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited nursing program or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • NIHSS certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred)
