Job Summary

As a Respiratory Therapist with Corewell Health, you will play a vital role in helping patients breathe more easily and live life more comfortably. You will collaborate with a highly skilled clinical team to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and breathing in people of all ages.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients to determine their respiratory care needs and make appropriate recommendations and changes in accordance with policy and protocol guidelines.
  • Perform advanced evaluation, management, and therapeutic procedures for patients requiring respiratory assistance.
  • Accurately document patient information and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Facilitate a smooth transition for patients to appropriate referral services and provide education to patients and families regarding respiratory issues.
  • Instruct and train other respiratory care staff, nursing, and medical personnel on patient needs and respiratory care services.
Requirements
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.
  • 2 years of relevant experience in pulmonary rehabilitation, respiratory care, sleep medicine, or equivalent clinical education.
  • LIC-Respiratory Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Respiratory Therapist Registry - NBRC National Board for Respiratory Care Upon Hire required.
  • CRT-Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA American Heart Association Regional Hospitals and NICU 90 Days required.
  • CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab 90 Days required.
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required.
