Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Tucson, Arizona. As a key member of our Mechanical Products Directorate, you will be responsible for designing and developing technical solutions for complex problems related to harness and interconnects for multiple missiles and aerospace/defense programs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle, including proposal, design, prototyping, manufacturing, integration, and test of various types of harness and interconnects.
- Collaborate with senior personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordination between functional organizations and physical locations.
- Responsible for identifying and deriving system requirements, defining mechanical outline and construction details, connector selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, overseeing electrical layout, performing first-order electrical analysis, and ownership of final technical data package.
- Meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for finished product during proposal efforts.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or 8 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of six (5) years of experience in the design and/or manufacturing of any of wire harnesses for military, aerospace, or commercial applications.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date. U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Ten (5) or more years of experience in the design and manufacturing of flex, rigid flex, and round wire harnesses for military and aerospace applications.
- Familiarity with the Creo Parametric modeling tool and drawing standards.
- Ability to work with, and previous experience working with harness and interconnect manufacturers to support program needs and travel periodically to manufacturing facilities.
- Strong technical background with high technical aptitude.
- Experience with any of the following industry specifications: IPC/WHMA-A-620, SAE AS22759, J-STD-001 Mil-PRF-31032, IPC-6013, IPC-2221, or IPC-2223.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Very strong verbal and written communications and interpersonal skills when working with team members and customers.
- Self-starter, ability to work independently.
- Must have a sound understanding of the design and manufacturing processes of harnesses and interconnects.
- Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.

This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
