Position Overview:
Aspen Center is actively seeking a qualified Early Childhood Teacher with PDIS 3.0 level II or higher to assume a full-time role as a community support educator. This distinctive position allows the right candidate to cultivate meaningful relationships with every child while collaborating with teachers across our various classrooms.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
  • Degree in Early Childhood Education, Education, Human Development, or a related field (preferred); High School Diploma or GED (required)
  • Experience in a classroom setting within a constructivist learning environment
  • PDIS 3.0 level II or higher certification (required)
  • Must meet qualifications for Early Childhood Teacher (ECT) or Assistant Early Childhood Teacher (AECT)
  • CDA or Early Childhood Certificate
  • Familiarity with Colorado Child Care Licensing regulations and county health department guidelines
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred)
Responsibilities as a Community Support Educator:
  • Collaborate daily with fellow early childhood educators to provide authentic learning experiences
  • Serve as a peer model for best practices in early childhood education
  • Assist classroom teachers during planning, documentation, and break times
  • Facilitate children's learning experiences
  • Establish strong relationships with families to enhance home-school partnerships
  • Address school-wide responsibilities such as laundry, dishwashing, playground supervision, and drop-off/pick-up procedures
  • Be available to substitute for teachers when necessary
  • Comply with COVID policies established by Aspen Center and recommended by health authorities

  • Possesses the required Education and Qualifications (as listed above)
  • Has classroom experience
  • Demonstrates strong organizational skills, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Exhibits a passion for early childhood education and advocacy for children, families, and educators
  • Has experience in a Reggio Emilia-inspired educational setting (preferred)
  • Views themselves as a lifelong learner
  • Desires to contribute to meaningful change

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Frequent use of a computer
  • Reach in various directions
  • Lift or move up to 50 lbs as needed
  • Bend, twist, kneel, stoop, and reach
  • Navigate stairs
  • Communicate effectively, including listening and speaking
Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $20.00 per hour
