Job Summary

The Johns Hopkins University Central Employee and Labor Relations Department is seeking a highly skilled HR Coordinator to provide exceptional support in the areas of employee and labor relations, appeals, grievances, HR policy, and calendar management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive HR and administrative support to the Employee and Labor Relations leadership, including coordination of employee relations, collective bargaining agreement administration, and HR policy implementation.
  • Collaborate with the Employee and Labor Relations leadership to resolve employee relations issues and implement departmental and institution-wide projects and initiatives.
  • Collect, organize, and prepare documentation for employee relations conflict resolution discussions, investigation strategies, and appeal hearings.
  • Manage calendars for employee relations meetings with divisional HR leadership, management, and staff.
  • Collect, manage, and maintain labor relations documents and records for grievances, arbitrations, and other essential labor relations matters.
  • Prepare materials for Bargaining Unit departmental and Central Employee and Labor Relations meetings and contract negotiations.
  • Coordinate labor relations reporting and record management.
  • Maintain the Employee and Labor Relations database, including disciplinary actions, appeals, grievances, risk assessments, and severance agreements.
  • Update divisional employee files with accurate documentation.
  • Support the development and maintenance of Employee and Labor Relations employee notification template letters.
  • Coordinate special projects, manage office workflow, schedule appointments, and assist with meeting planning and logistics.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or graduation equivalent.
  • Three years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Prior JHU experience a plus.
