Job Title: Sr Phlebotomist

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sr Phlebotomist to join our team at CSL Plasma. As a Sr Phlebotomist, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective collection of plasma from donors, ensuring the highest quality of product and donor safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform venipuncture on donors to begin the pheresis process, ensuring compliance with SOPs and FDA guidelines.
  • Evaluate vein performance and make necessary corrections to expedite donation time and ensure product quality and donor safety.
  • Ensure the donation process is efficient and make adjustments as needed to provide a positive experience for the donor.
  • May educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma.
  • Explain the screening process, health screening tests, appointment system, donation fees, center policies, proper nutrition, and other relevant information to donors.
  • Ensure all donor questions are answered timely, accurately, and professionally.
  • Monitor donor flow on the donor floor to ensure continuous turnover and alert the Group Leader or Supervisor of any issues.
  • May provide guidance and technical training to donor floor staff and other staff as required.
  • Collect arm samples or whole blood samples from donors for testing.
  • Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.
  • Understand and maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum eighteen (18) months experience in a medical or healthcare environment preferred.
  • Specialized medical or phlebotomy training preferred.
  • Ability to complete routine forms or conduct routine oral communications.
  • Must be able to see and speak with customers and observe equipment operation.
  • Occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of time.
  • Reach, bend, kneel, and have a high level of manual dexterity.
  • Occasionally be required to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
