Job Title: Phlebotomist Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist Specialist with experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination. The ideal candidate will collect and store specimens according to established procedures, clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections, demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, and fully understand all physicians' orders.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect and store specimens according to established procedures
  • Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture and other specimen collections
  • Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
  • Fully understand all physicians' orders
  • Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
  • Label, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test orders
  • Check all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy
  • Packaging specimens for transport
  • Store specimen samples according to required temperatures
Requirements:
  • Experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination
  • Ability to collect and store specimens according to established procedures
  • Clear and courteous communication skills
  • Ability to demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles
  • Fully understand all physicians' orders
