Position SummaryThe Outcomes Manager embodies the mission, vision, and values of Northwestern Medicine, adhering to the organization's ethical standards and compliance protocols. This role is essential in ensuring optimal patient outcomes while managing resources effectively.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight:
- Oversee existing and newly established cardiovascular clinical initiatives, including the development of educational programs and management of clinical staff.
- Collaborate with CTICU Operations managers, educational coordinators, and medical directors to enhance professional development for all CTICU nursing staff.
Evidence-Based Practice:
- Serve as a subject matter expert, guiding clinicians on standards of care and improving patient outcomes through effective communication and coaching.
- Coordinate research efforts and facilitate the onboarding of new nursing staff within cardiovascular programs.
- Identify business opportunities that enhance patient experience and program reputation.
- Conduct comprehensive analyses of clinical initiatives to assess potential risks and benefits, leading the team towards achieving recognition for excellence.
- Encourage continuous professional growth among staff and foster an environment of clinical inquiry.
Quality and Safety Management:
- Identify practice gaps through assessments and implement strategies for improvement.
- Develop and manage internal monitoring systems to evaluate the effectiveness of clinical initiatives.
- Collaborate with various departments to enhance quality improvement processes.
- Utilize data to drive performance improvements and provide education to enhance patient care experiences.
- Promote interprofessional collaboration and maintain a supportive work environment.
Required:
- Master's degree in Nursing.
- Registered Nurse License in Illinois.
- Specialty certification recognized by Magnet.
- 2-5 years of experience in patient population studies and collaboration with care providers.
- BLS Certification.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
- Leadership experience.
- CNS or CNL Certification.
- Experience in Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit.
