Job Title: Behavioral Support Instructional Assistant

Shelbyville Central Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Behavioral Support Instructional Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our instructional support staff, you will play a vital role in supporting students with behavioral challenges and promoting a positive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with self-regulation strategies and techniques to promote a positive classroom environment.
  • Meet with students individually and in small groups to teach self-regulation, executive function, and social skills.
  • Promote and support the SCS Tier 1 Social Emotional Learning initiative.
  • Collaborate with the MTSS team to develop and implement behavior plans for Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.
  • Participate in building-level crisis response teams and collaborate with administration and staff to ensure student safety and well-being.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and adhere to Corporation Bylaws, Policies, and Employee Handbook.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and support staff.
  • Knowledge of behavioral support strategies and techniques.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
