Electrical Engineer II/III

NanoString is seeking an Electrical Engineer II/III to join our team in improving the NanoString instrument and consumable products. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will work closely with software engineers, hardware engineers, and suppliers to design and develop critical components and subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems and components for NanoString instruments and consumables
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product performance and reliability
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with engineering changes
  • Develop and implement quality control testing and test fixtures
  • Support product end-of-life cycles and repair/refurbishment activities

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in product development, sustaining, or manufacturing engineering
  • B.S. and/or M.S. in electrical engineering or related field
  • Practical aptitude for hands-on work with electromechanical, optics, fluidic, and software systems
  • Experience with ECAD software and Product Data Management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical test equipment, oscilloscopes, soldering irons, microcontrollers, and circuit board design
  • Knowledge of quality control principles, business processes, and management systems
