Sr Electrical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Electrical Engineer to join our team at General Dynamics OTS Inc in Bothell, WA.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will design, develop, and test electrical equipment, components, circuits, or systems for the generation, transmission, and control of electric power.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement electrical systems and apparatus, including electric motors, machinery controls, lighting, wiring, and power systems/devices.
  • Apply mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
  • Perform extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
  • Conduct research and studies on new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years of experience in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles, including circuit design, computer simulation, and design optimization.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience in the Aerospace or Defense industry.
  • Knowledge of CAD software, computer-aided engineering (CAE) software, and electro-mechanical components/instruments.

Physical Demands:

The successful candidate must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. Regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities is required, and may need to stand for long periods of time.

Travel Requirements:

Less than 25% travel is likely.
