Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant to join our team at JMT. As a Project Accountant, you will be responsible for all aspects of accounting to invoice clients for project work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the oversight of the accounting team and ensure that all accounting tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Review contract terms and verifications of job setup paperwork to ensure compliance with company accounting standards and government requirements.
  • Set up project financials and budgeting in the accounting database and analyze monthly financials and on-going revenue recognition.
  • Ensure all billing transactions are completed and accurately recorded in the Accounting system.
  • Review sub consultant invoices for contractual compliance and process vouchers.
  • Prepare complex invoices (Cost Plus, Time and Materials, & Fixed Price) and complete monthly billing.
  • Work with project managers to finalize invoices for submittal to client.
  • Investigate and resolve billing issues to ensure jobs are billed within the appropriate time.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to billing, as they arise.
  • Perform Training of other Project Accountants.
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of team.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma and 4 years of related experience, or Associates Degree and 2 years of related experience, or Bachelor's Degree in Business.
  • 4+ years of project billing experience.
  • Knowledgeable in Project / Cost Accounting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in accounting operations for a multi-disciplined consulting engineering/ architectural office, job cost support and invoice processing.

Working Conditions:

The work is performed within a general office environment. The work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
