As a Kitchen Support Specialist at The Montgomery County Coalition, you will collaborate closely with the Assistant Operations Director to facilitate the efficient functioning of our culinary and food service operations. Your role will encompass aiding in meal preparation, serving daily nourishment to shelter residents, and ensuring a hygienic and secure kitchen atmosphere.

Primary Duties:
  • Assist in the storage, preparation, and serving of meals
  • Work alongside kitchen volunteers and staff members
  • Manage ordering and inventory of food supplies
  • Oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and report any malfunctions
  • Organize incoming deliveries and food donations
  • Accommodate the special dietary requirements of residents
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen and dining spaces
  • Maintain inventory and orderliness of storage areas
  • Engage in training sessions and team meetings
  • Observe resident behavior and document incidents
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • 6 to 12 months of relevant experience
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Familiarity with CPR and first aid
  • Ability to foster positive relationships
  • Maintain professional boundaries
