Job Summary

Discovery Senior Living is seeking a highly skilled Resident Care Specialist to join our corporate team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of our senior living communities, ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines, and providing support to our community directors of health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with corporate and external regulatory guidelines.
  • Evaluate and improve compliance with resident rights policies and resolve resident grievances.
  • Conduct compliance surveys at communities and assist in coordinating action plans to minimize liability and risks.
  • Participate in state and federal surveys and compliance investigations.
  • Support and review plan of correction progress.
  • Review and develop performance indicators and survey data to identify trends.
  • Provide in-service training and orientation to community staff on survey process, risk management, corporate compliance, and performance improvement.
  • Assist regional director with auditing level of care assessments for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in the interview and selection process for community directors of health and wellness.
  • Assist communities in maintaining knowledge of state regulations and monitoring proposed changes to regulations.
  • Champion the company culture.
  • Review and facilitate partnerships with outside vendors as needed.
  • Assist with education and provide clinical expertise for the director of health and wellness role.
  • Ensure timely information reporting and compliance with all state, federal, and government agencies.
  • Demonstrate respect, compassion, and honesty in every interaction.
  • Conduct oneself with the highest degree of integrity in every interaction.
  • May be requested to serve as temporary interim director of health and wellness.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, support, and guidance to community administrators and director of health and wellness staff to ensure delivery of high-quality care to residents.
Qualifications
  • Multistate compact licensure as a registered nurse required.
  • Maintain knowledge of regulatory compliance in all states of responsibility.
  • Current experience in assisted living required.
  • Five to ten years' nursing experience.
  • Licensed registered nurse in good standing.
  • Three to five years' nursing management experience.
  • Recent/current experience as director of wellness, director of clinical, or director of nursing in assisted living required.
