Job Summary

The Railcar Repair Specialist is a critical member of our team at Marmon Holdings, Inc., responsible for conducting all aspects of repair and maintenance on tank cars. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Railcar Repair: Conduct railcar inspections to ensure compliance and perform repairs as necessary, utilizing current repair procedures and industry standards.
  • Customer Support: Provide exceptional customer service, meeting the expectations and requirements of all customers to ensure their satisfaction with work.
  • Clerical: Ensure accurate and complete invoicing, inspection, and work order information, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Certifications and Compliance: Maintain all necessary certifications, complete and maintain required certifications, and demonstrate strong familiarity with AAR rules and regulations.
  • Additional Tasks: Perform other work-related tasks as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must have mechanical aptitude, ability to problem-solve, and make decisions. Ability to use hand tools, such as pipe wrenches, pry bars, wrenches, ratchets, and other equipment to chip and grind weld slag or spatter.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to stoop for extended periods, routinely move from kneeling to standing positions, and lift up to 50 pounds from the ground surface.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions and pass a company physical exam, drug screening, and background check.
