Job Overview

DIRECT HIRE: We are seeking a skilled and meticulous Accounts Payable Specialist to contribute to our financial operations within the construction sector. This role is essential for maintaining precise financial documentation and ensuring prompt payments to our vendors and suppliers.

The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational capabilities, exceptional attention to detail, and a robust understanding of accounting principles. This position offers the chance to significantly impact the growth and success of SST Direct.


Compensation: $60K - $70K (commensurate with experience)
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401K

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and validate invoices and purchase orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Track accounts to ensure timely payments and address any discrepancies.
  • Process vendor payments while maintaining precise records of all transactions.
  • Prepare and uphold various financial reports, including aging reports and expense summaries.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to resolve payment-related issues or inquiries.
  • Assist in month-end closing tasks, including account reconciliations and financial report generation.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures as well as relevant accounting regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate's degree in accounting or a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Accounts Payable Clerk or in a similar capacity.
  • Experience with Viewpoint/Vista Construction Software is essential.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Understanding of fundamental accounting principles and practices.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
