Overview:

Job Summary:

The Membership Services Representative is responsible for delivering excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants, responding to member and guest needs, and promoting memberships and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to members, guests, and program participants.
  • Conduct interviews and/or tours responsive to the needs of prospective members; sell memberships and programs; provide information of facility and programs to inquiring members.
  • Handle and resolve membership concerns and inform supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
  • Apply all YMCA policies dealing with member services.
  • Register and receipt monies for memberships and program participants.
  • Utilize Y computers with skill and proficiency.
  • Develop ability to work without constant direct supervision and remain at assigned post for extended periods of time.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute toward a quality work environment.
  • Adhere to policies related to boundaries with consumers.
  • Attend/complete required abuse risk management training.
  • Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising consumers.
  • Follow mandated reporting requirements.
  • Adhere to job-specific abuse risk management responsibilities.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma.
  • At least three months or more customer service/public relations experience required.
  • Must be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational skills, and have the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to be efficient and productive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have enthusiasm and possess excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills.

This position requires availability Monday - Friday 8am - 3pm and weekends.
