Position Overview:

Examination Process:

Applicants will undergo a comprehensive appraisal process that evaluates training, education, experience, and personal fitness for the role. This may include an oral examination, which will be weighted heavily in the overall assessment.


Minimum Qualifications:

To qualify, candidates must possess:

  • Two years of full-time, paid investigative experience.
  • Completion of the Penal Code Section 832 course, either prior to or within the first year of employment.
  • A valid California Class C Driver's License.

Physical and Character Requirements:

Applicants must pass a rigorous medical examination and demonstrate a reputation for honesty and trustworthiness. Background checks will be conducted, and felony convictions will disqualify candidates.

This position requires a willingness to handle sensitive situations involving deceased individuals, including exposure to adverse weather conditions and the necessity for flexible working hours, including on-call assignments.
