Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage directly with biological materials and reagents in a laboratory setting.
  • Gain insights into the responsibilities of an R&D scientist.
  • Collaborate with professional staff on technical discussions related to projects, methodologies, and lab practices.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and a strong work ethic, with a keen interest in learning new techniques.
  • Adhere to safety protocols in the workplace and laboratory environment at all times.


Daily Tasks:
  • Conduct biological laboratory techniques including aseptic procedures, appropriate personal protective equipment usage, pipetting, serial dilutions, and preparation of microbial media and chemical solutions.
  • Effectively operate an autoclave for the sterilization of media, reagents, and supplies.
  • Organize and maintain a comprehensive chemical inventory across various laboratory settings.
  • Familiarize yourself with new bench-scale and larger process equipment.
  • Independently execute laboratory tasks, experiments, and literature reviews.
  • Collaborate within a team environment and contribute to scientific discussions and project meetings.


Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Virology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Completion of at least one laboratory course in biology or chemistry.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated interest in biological sciences.
  • Capability to utilize a respirator.
  • A valid driver's license is required.


Additional Information:

The selected candidate will undergo a government security review and must meet the eligibility criteria for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
