Education and Intervention Specialist

Washington County Mental Health Services seeks a highly skilled Education and Intervention Specialist to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of youth in need of behavioral support.
About the Role
The Education and Intervention Specialist will provide direct supervision to youth within an integrated mental health treatment facility/educational center. Implementing behavioral programming and milieu counseling, this role requires a deep understanding of social, emotional, and recreational skills as well as activities of daily living in classroom, day treatment, and community settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide milieu counseling in social, emotional regulation, and recreational/leisure skills
- Successfully implement the behavioral management system and individualized behavior plans within classroom, day treatment, and community settings
- Facilitate small group activities
- Support academic instruction and other learning activities within and outside the school setting, as directed by Ch.O.I.C.E. Academy Assistant Program Coordinator
- Develop positive and therapeutic working relationships with youth, families, and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in human services, education, or psychology preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interact well with parents, school staff, WCMHS staff, and other professionals
- Valid driver's license and access to a safe, reliable, insured vehicle
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 annually, plus opportunities for overtime if desired. Our benefits package includes generous medical, dental, vision, life, and accident insurance, with WCMHS covering 82.5-92% of premium costs. We also offer matching 403(b) retirement savings, employee assistance plan, generous sick and vacation accruals, and 12.5 paid holidays annually.
