Position Overview

The primary objective of this role is to oversee the order fulfillment process, ensuring seamless claims resolution and fostering strong customer relationships. This position acts as the main point of contact for customers, coordinating their orders and collaborating with various internal departments such as Sales, Operations, and Logistics to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Receive and verify customer purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and alignment with provided quotes.
  2. Manage order entry in the ERP system, including backlog processing and cut-list orders.
  3. Assign appropriate shipping dates based on production schedules and transportation logistics.
  4. Facilitate order amendments in response to customer or departmental changes.
  5. Maintain comprehensive project files for active orders, documenting all modifications.
  6. Conduct follow-up activities to clarify orders and resolve claims efficiently.
  7. Perform regular updates on order backlogs and aged inventory reports.
  8. Assist in locating coil batches and providing Mill Test Reports to customers.
  9. Handle incoming calls and direct inquiries as necessary.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Two years of customer service experience or equivalent industry exposure.
  • Experience with ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Two to five years of experience in customer service within construction or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with SAP Software or MS Dynamics.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong multitasking and time management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analytical skills with a focus on dispute resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Working Conditions:

This role involves extensive client interaction and may require hosting clients or engaging with senior executives. Computer usage is a significant part of the job, necessitating attention to detail and accuracy.
