Position Overview: This role entails addressing hardware and software inquiries for the Local System Administrators support team. This team is responsible for managing, configuring, and supporting end-user devices, which include desktops, laptops, tablets, thin clients, printers, and monitors. Additionally, the role involves troubleshooting and providing support for Microsoft Office applications, updates to various third-party software, and Endpoint security definition updates. You may also take part in, or lead, various IT projects such as application upgrades and infrastructure refreshes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot a variety of computer-related issues.
  • Conduct daily system monitoring to ensure the availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
  • Install workstations, software, and peripherals as needed.
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts upon request.
  • Provide support to various end users, investigating and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Manage inventory of desktop, laptop, mobile devices, and printer hardware and software, including installation, refurbishment, and maintenance.
  • Oversee hardware and software for workstations, ensuring functionality for various Manufacturing Execution Systems solutions.
  • Perform maintenance on desktop systems, including repairs and recovery from hardware or software failures, operating system upgrades, and desktop imaging.
  • Efficiently resolve all Local System Administrator incidents and requests while coordinating with users.
  • Respond to user inquiries, addressing questions and resolving hardware and software problems.
  • Implement corrective actions remotely or guide users through solutions.
  • Collaborate with corporate headquarters staff on new software and hardware deployments.
  • Document standardized processes and procedures for internal customers.
  • May be required to support critical systems outside of regular hours and respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in system administration and technical support, with at least 2 years in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Adaptability to current technologies and commitment to maintaining technical skills.
  • Proficient in using proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation in written communication.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations.
  • Sound judgment, analytical abilities, and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Efficient time and workload management, with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends with little notice.
  • Self-starter with a proactive approach.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related technical field is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certifications such as A+, Network+, and Microsoft certifications are advantageous but not required.
  • Fluency in both French and English is essential.

Experience:

  • Proven experience in analyzing, installing, administering, and troubleshooting all aspects of a client/server data network, including multi-facility client/server network and system administration.
  • Familiarity with portable technologies, including laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
  • Experience with enterprise-class desktop software, including Windows 7 & 10, Office 2010, 2016, Endpoint Protection antivirus, and remote management tools.
  • Knowledge of Windows Active Directory, corporate network infrastructure, and group policies is a plus.
  • Experience supporting and configuring thin-client devices is desirable but not essential.
