As a Traffic Solutions Engineer, you will collaborate with clients spanning Shive-Hattery's diverse sectors, including public infrastructure, educational institutions, industrial growth, and commercial projects. Your expertise will be vital in executing traffic management strategies such as roundabouts, traffic signal installations, elevated crosswalks, and other safety enhancements. Moreover, your planning and traffic analyses will inform the future direction for numerous public sector clients and influence development strategies for private commercial and industrial partners.

In this role, you will engage with a team of traffic and transportation professionals, providing mentorship, project oversight, and facilitating client interactions. Together, you will support various municipal and state clients throughout Shive-Hattery's operational regions. Additionally, your insights will be crucial for Shive-Hattery's initiatives, including new educational facilities, healthcare expansions, campus accessibility studies, and many other projects requiring traffic engineering expertise.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in traffic engineering.
  • Proven ability to cultivate relationships both internally within Shive-Hattery and externally with clients.
  • Comprehensive understanding of traffic solution implementation, particularly in traffic signal technology.
  • Direct experience in client engagement.
  • Proficient in project management, including defining project scope, budget, and timelines.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • Professional engineer license in Iowa or the capability to secure licensure within a year. Licensure in neighboring states such as Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, and Wisconsin is also advantageous.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading project teams and client interfacing is essential.
