Lead Software Solutions Engineer / Senior Software Architect - This is a Direct Hire opportunity.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Cedar Rapids, IA (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Position Overview: Take the lead in defining the requirements, design, integration, and validation of comprehensive GNSS software solutions in close collaboration with our clients' engineering teams worldwide (GNSS, AP, Modem). Your expertise will encompass both digital and analog hardware designs to optimize power efficiency, performance, and reliability of our client's GNSS offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee embedded software initiatives for Acquisition, Tracking, and Navigation, focusing on interference mitigation, sensor integration (e.g., steps, MEMs), and power optimization (e.g., low power duty cycling).
  • Engage with clients, SOC, Modem, WIFI/BT teams to develop comprehensive SOC solutions, making informed strategic trade-offs.
  • Troubleshoot complex A2A issues, including acquisition, tracking, and navigation challenges.
  • Design optimizations and algorithms aimed at minimizing memory usage, enhancing performance, improving maintainability, and reducing power consumption.
  • Conduct thorough reviews to ensure coherence across DSP signal processing, navigation, aiding, and mitigation functionalities.
  • Provide critical assessments of external influences (e.g., new strategies from clients, CP, or SOC teams) to preempt potential issues.
  • Manage all software architecture/integration, algorithms, and performance/power trade-offs.
  • Supply the hardware team (digital, analog, RF) with requirements inputs to leverage future software capabilities and minimize area.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's (20+ years), Master's (18+ years), or PhD (15+ years) in Computer/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Proven leadership in GNSS, Navigation, and Timing technologies.
  • Deep expertise in sensor integration for optimal location solutions.
  • Proficiency in MEMs and MEMs integration for location accuracy.
  • Experience in modeling, simulation, and evaluations in both pre-silicon and post-silicon stages.
  • Skills in planning, analyzing, and debugging lab and field tests.
  • Willingness to travel globally.
  • Proficient in Matlab, Python, and C programming for PC and Linux environments.
