Position Overview:

The Bilingual Prevention Educator plays a crucial role in the development, execution, and management of the organization's primary prevention initiatives, community education efforts, and training programs as directed by the Prevention Supervisor. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and present educational programs aimed at staff, students, community members, professionals, and volunteers.
  • Ensure adherence to program fidelity and compliance with all training protocols.
  • Create and administer assessments and surveys to evaluate program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Exhibit a strong commitment to prevention strategies, community engagement, and planning.
  • Develop and update educational materials and pamphlets for community outreach.
  • Acquire proficiency in program evaluation to demonstrate the effectiveness of prevention strategies in mitigating risk factors and enhancing protective factors.
  • Establish and nurture partnerships with potential collaborators, including educational institutions and community organizations.
  • Collaborate with evaluators to ensure adherence to evaluation plans as necessary.
  • Gather and analyze statistical data to assist in preparing monthly and quarterly reports for the supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate program data related to evaluations and other reporting requirements.
  • Oversee the collection of attendance records, pretests, posttests, and other relevant documentation.
  • Develop and manage a database of current and potential training contacts and venues.
  • Actively represent the organization at speaking engagements focused on primary prevention.
  • Coordinate and manage program schedules while adhering to grant stipulations.
  • Effectively communicate with diverse audiences, inspiring and educating community members from various backgrounds.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, stakeholders, and community members.
  • Assist in organizing Community Health Fairs as assigned.
  • Ensure that all programs and activities are executed with a high standard of excellence.
  • Engage in continuous professional development by acquiring new skills and seeking assistance when needed.
  • Ensure that all training materials and curricula are current and uphold program integrity.
  • This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities but may include mentoring new hires and interns as needed.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in both English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to perform job duties in various settings.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and adaptability to diverse backgrounds, including gender, race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, religion, age, and sexual orientation.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and basic computer skills.
  • Availability for evening and weekend meetings and events as required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong time management skills to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and New Jersey.
  • Ability to represent Prevention Links with professionalism and uphold the organization's standards of excellence and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with all programs, grants, and projects offered by Prevention Links.
  • Adherence to administrative, reporting, and recordkeeping guidelines to ensure accurate documentation of activities.
  • Participation in all mandatory training sessions provided by the organization.
  • Physical ability to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License and reliable transportation.
  • Completion of additional tasks as assigned by the CEO or Deputy Director.

Education and Experience:

A Bachelor's degree is required; experience in prevention, education, community health education, or public health is preferred; bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required.

Travel Requirements: Domestic travel may be necessary for this full-time position, with local independent travel expected.

Evening and Weekend Availability: Candidates must be available for at least two evenings each week.
