Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced radar systems. As a key member of our Radar Mechanical Design Department, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and integration of phase array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and cooling systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to complex problems related to the entire product life cycle, including proposal, design, manufacture, integration, and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs.
  • Supervise the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and deliver the final technical data package.
  • Employ transition-to-production practices and lead a design release into production.
  • Track, report, and meet cost, schedule, quality, and performance requirements for the finished product, including Earned Value (EV) management and Estimate at Complete (EAC) inputs.
  • Prepare proposal inputs on behalf of the Integrated Structure product area and interpret procurement and build status for the Integrated Structure product area.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design.
  • Experience with phase array structures, hardware packaging, and array integration for military or mechanical or commercial applications.
  • Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and the ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance prior to the start date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Cognizant of machine suppliers' capabilities or have direct experience in a manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility.
  • Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, and electronics assemblies.
  • Strong technical background with high technical aptitude and strong leadership skills and project management.
