Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Collins Aerospace. As a key member of our Mission Systems organization, you will be responsible for designing and developing hardware components for our Protected Communications Systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components for electronic assemblies, circuit card assemblies, and structural components.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate hardware components into our systems.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for hardware designs and components.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of components and materials.
  • Participate in design reviews and trade studies to ensure optimal design solutions.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and development, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
  • Strong background in CAD design tools, such as CREO, and product data management tools.
  • Experience with structural and thermal analysis using ANSYS and other analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing and ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with design, fabrication, and integration of electronic assemblies and circuit card assemblies.
  • CREO CAD system experience and PDM or similar product data management tools.
  • Previous experience with structural and/or thermal analysis using ANSYS and other analytical tools.
  • Knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications.
