As a key member of the SSM Health team, the Director of Nursing will oversee the Emergency Department, Trauma, and Observation Care services. This leadership role requires a strong clinical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive departmental goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement departmental goals and objectives aligned with medical, administrative, and legal requirements.
- Direct clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, and complaint management.
- Plan, organize, and direct staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare and monitor budgets to ensure efficient operation within allocated funds.
- Coordinate and direct internal and external audits.
- Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
- Three years of registered nurse experience, with one year in direct people management/leadership.
- Experience as an ED RN and/or ED leader.
- Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification.
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Wisconsin or a compact state.
