As the demand for our services increases and becomes more intricate, Catholic Charities is evolving to meet these challenges. Our approach includes three main strategies: preventing poverty, addressing basic needs during crises, and creating sustainable pathways out of poverty.

COMPENSATION: $22.50-$26.30/hourly

POSITION SUMMARY: Catholic Charities is in search of a proactive leader who is dedicated, detail-oriented, compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive to take on the role of Lead Educator at the Northside Child Development Center.

The individual will oversee classroom operations, including the design and execution of a developmentally appropriate curriculum for assigned groups. Responsibilities also include supervising classroom staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and upholding agency and center policies. Building and maintaining positive relationships with staff, children, parents, volunteers, and the community is essential.

This role requires a valid Minnesota driver's license.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Ensure adherence to licensing, accreditation, and developmental standards at all times.
  2. Supervise children consistently.
  3. Oversee staff and volunteers, providing orientation and ongoing support.
  4. Coordinate daily programming, ensuring all developmental areas are addressed.
  5. Maintain daily communication with parents.
  6. Manage and supervise programming, lesson plans, assessments, and documentation.
  7. Review and ensure the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for accountability and client outcomes.
  8. Support and work with children's individual needs, meeting them where they are.
  9. Collaborate respectfully with all staff, supervisors, management, and volunteers.
  10. Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must meet Minnesota Department of Human Services licensing qualifications as outlined in Rule 3 for a Teacher.
  • Two (2) years of relevant experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development, Education, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in center-based child care is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain a clean driving record, and provide current proof of insurance coverage.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, mental health challenges, or low-income situations.
